Lower Base Line & Trafalgar Road

The Region has determined that the sensors in the road that control the signals are not working and need to be replaced.  For safety reasons, the Region must wait for warmer weather to complete this work and expect to have it fixed before the end of April.  In the meantime, they have extended the timing on the light in order to reduce the backup of traffic along Lower Base Line.

 

The Fourth Line between Beaty and Menefy is finally open to traffic. 

Please note however, that due to the time of year the asphalt over the culvert is temporary (the surface is rough and segregated and the thickness was reduced) and will be completely removed and replaced in the spring.

There is still outstanding work to be done along the sides of the road and in the channel but this will not require closure of the road.
